Snow White, the 944 is aging beautifully and at the same time she wears her age with dignity. Being a 30+ years old, she is also a time pod of that age.
Her communication friend in the car, Herr Blaupunkt Aspen SQR27, took some research to find, as there was a more modern aftermarket cassette radio fitted to her.
But it does not stop here, of course the musical digestion should be from the late 80s-early 90s, to be in the right mood.
Above you can see the time-right selection available, and taps into my musical preferences along with what missus likes to listen to.
When driving by myself, very often I have Bronski Beat, Depeche Mode and Erasure accompanying me. For more aggressive drives, there can be Die Krupps or DAF screaming out of the speakers.
For more on my musical digestion, concert experiences and my own music escapades, you should check out my Substack channel “Im Rhythmus Bleiben”. It is mostly about synthpop and EBM.
And yeah, perhaps I will look for a couple of more complimentary cassettes in my taste.

Can't beat cassettes ah??? I used to record all my album on half-decent tapes such that each side of the record begun half way through the tape. That way I could listen to the same side of the album again-and-again simply by turning over the tape (or selecting reverse). Metal Oxide tapes, Dolby B/C, oh it's all coming back....
