It was early spring, and out flew the birds from the nest…with a friend, we had some fantastic days on a road trip: from Oslo to Bolzano in Sudtirol, Italy. We could have gone further to Sicily, Croatia or somewhere else, but this was fine. We met a lot of fabulous people on the way; the experiences in Germany, Austria and Italy were great.
Sleeping at chicken farms on hay, or out in the woods on wooden beds - or why not in a tent high up in the Dolomites. And I tried a monoski, just for the fun :)
Before you get to the downhill hairpins, you have to climb, here is one of those ascends:
Here are a few picture excerpts, and some views on the Land Rover Discovery 4 SDV6 HSE.
Also, our climb up the dolomites, dropped the temperatures from some mid 20s (C) down to almost zero and windy. Yes, there were high piles of snow, as can be seen on the video, when we got to the zig-zag part of the wonderful decent. A heavy car, lot of breaking, made the breaks go a bit mushy at the end of the half-an-hour/three-quarter-of-an-hour decent.
It was an amazing journey…next year needs a new one!
